Derelict ships are where you will spend your time exploring with the drones.

They are made up of a series of rooms connected by doors, some rooms will have airlocks that allow for docking ports for the players ship.

Visible from the System View, they have various properties:

  • Name
  • Class (what the derelict was built for)
    • Ship (Military, Salvage, MUTEKI, Private, Barge, Medical, Government)
      • The only derelicts that can be commandeered
    • Station (Space Station, Fuel Depot)
    • Outpost (Industrial Outpost, Military Outpost, Military Outpost, Medical Outpost, Research Outpost)
      • Need transporter to access
      • Also need a military ship to access military outposts.
  • Grade (size of the derelict compared to others of the same class)
    • A–D, A is the largest, D is the smallest. (D only applies to Space Stations/Fuel Depots)
  • Infestation types (types of hostile entities onboard)
  • Quarantine status (Quarantined ships cannot be commandeered)
  • Age (how long the ship has been derelict.)
  • Distance (how far your mothership is away from the selected derelict)
  • Visited (whether you have boarded the vessel before)
    • [True/False]

Derelicts cannot be re-visited once you have exited.

Different types of derelicts have different numbers of Upgrade slots (Numbers unconfirmed), and sometimes have a built-in upgrade specific to class. {Shown in curly braces} Coll. is Collector, Decon. is Decontaminator

Data tables Edit

The following table is extracted from game files. It's based on version 1.022.

Width and height are specified in cells. A door is 2x2 cells. Derelict's height and width are not independent. In fact their ratio is constant for a given ship type (up to rounding). So for example a Military A can be 42x14 or 54x18, but not 54x14.
